- - #487: Floc Sensor, Model CS11 (Pendant Style) - -

  • The sensor modules are installed for suspending or mounting in a tank or centerwell where floc size and concentration is being measured. The tubing used is 18" long standard, but may be of any length required.
  • Sensor cables and the cleaning air hose come out the top. A sealed junction box for extending the sensor cables with ordinary shielded cable is provided (not shown).

- - #488: Floc Sensor Modules and Cleaning Air Jet - -

  • The floc sensor, commonly called a floc size sensor, actually is sensitive to both the floc size and concentration, both of which affect the flocculant dosage required. Two sensor modules (316 stainless steel) are fixed with their sapphire windows spaced according to the sludge being monitored. The cleaning jet is placed just off the windows, to keep them clean with short air blasts controlled by the CS1 electronics unit.
  • These modules can be factory mounted as required by the application, e.g. in a blind flange to inserting into a flanged T.

- - #564/571 Clarifier Supervisor Model CS-1 Electronics Enclosure - -

  • The CS-1 incorporates all the electronic and pneumatic equipment for field mounting near the floc sensor, or remotely by extending the connections with shielded cables. Power required is 115/230 VAC, air is 60-100 psi (an external regulator and separator is needed).
  • Operator controls are sealed in the front panel, which has a transparent door. Output connections include both 4-20 mA current and pulses for polymer dosage pump control, and alarm relay contacts that close when the electronics senses a problem with flocculation control.

- - #561 CS-1 Front Panel - -

  • The controls include display function, alarm leds, and adjustment knobs.
  • The "Polymer Setpoint" control allows the operator to adjust the baseline flocculant dosage.
  • Optional feedback control is provided by two other setpoint controls, here labeled "Blanket Setpoint" and "Blanket Polymer".
  • The two limit controls provide high/low caging of the output being sent to the polymer pump(s).

- - #574/578 CS-1 Liquid Crystal Display - -

  • The display is shown indicating "% Output", as selected by the meter switch, in the control mode selected by the "Automatic/Manual" toggle switch (not shown).
  • The lighted led indicates that the (optional) 4-20 mA flow meter input is not connected.
  • If it was connected, the CS-1 automatically includes polymer control based on the sludge flow meter reading.
